Correct Wiring Kit to Upgrade 4-Way on 2016 Jeep to 7-Way For Use with Tekonsha Voyager

Question:

I would like to add a brake controller to my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo without towing package. I have already purchased the Tekonsha T-one kit #118727 to get the 4 way connector capability. My confusion is about which wiring kit will I need to add the brake controller. I am looking at the ETBC7 and the ETBC7L but not sure which is the correct one to go with. If I have the 4 way connector there via the Tekonsha T-one then which kit will do what I want? I think it would be the ETBC7L but dont want to make the mistake of ordering the wrong one. I already have a Tekonsha Voyager controller to install in the Jeep. Thank you,

To convert the existing Tekonsha T-One 4-Way Harness # 118727 on your 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee to a fully functional 7-Way for use with your Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller # 39510 you will want to go with the # ETBC7 Wiring Kit.

This kit includes the brake output circuit wire and circuit breakers needed to activate the required 7-Way functions for the Voyager to work properly. This and the # ETBC7L Kit you also mentioned are really similar except that the # ETBC7L only includes the components needed to activate the 12V circuit on the 7-Way, which is the only circuit that some brake controllers need.

Your Tekonsha Voyager uses the brake output circuit on the 7-Way though so the full # ETBC7 Kit is the right choice.
