Wireless Camera Systems with Plug-In Monitor for Aluminum Tear Trailer

Question:

The total length of car plus trailer is about 32 feet, but the trailer is covered with aluminum. Of course the camera would be mounted outside the shell. Is this signal strong enough? I notice some wireless cameras systems do not work well at highway speed, and some get interference from other electronics. I want to use this both for backing up when I do not have a spotter, and as a rear view camera for tailgaters too close for my side mirrors. How would this perform? Is there an option for a display power cord that plugs into a cigarette lighter? The reason I want wireless is to change vehicles easily. Finally, what license plate cameras or other small cameras suitable for low mounting would work with this system? The photo shows the back of the trailer. I have wiring to power the cameras on top between the vent and the rack that holds the solar collectors, and also underneath behind the license plate. Thanks!

Thank you for the (really cool) photo and all of the details!

If you're looking for a system with a monitor that can easily transfer between tow vehicles then we need to find you something other than the Buyers Products RV Observation Camera System # 3378883200 because this monitor actually needs to be hardwired into the vehicle for power.

An alternative that is very popular and uses a 5" monitor is the Furrion Vision S System # FOS05TASF. You hardwire this camera on your tear trailer and then the monitor draws power via 12V socket so you can easily move it to another vehicle, plus it has a range of 492' (in the open) so it won't have an issue with 32'. The Furrion Vision S is the preferred system for OEM trailer manufacturers so there are a lot of people already using this system.

I have attached some review videos for you to reference. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
