How to Determine Correct Replacement Bearing
Question:
I have the correct outer bearing but the inner bearing was trashed so I cannot figure what the i.d. was ? The outer one was 1. The inner race is ok - 2.5inch o.d. Any hints ?

To determine the correct inner bearing, you can use a digital caliper like # PTW80157 to measure the portion of the spindle that the bearing rides on, the bearing you need would have a similar but slightly larger ID. You could also pull the other hub and get the reference number from the bearing on the other side. Since you're replacing one side already, you might as well inspect the other and repack the bearings while you're at it. That would be the most sure way to get the correct replacement bearing.
