Does Firestone Ride Rite Kit for 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Affect Unloaded Ride Quality

Question:

I am concerned in purchasing these as they mount to the axel and the frame essentially taking out any room for play in the suspension. Are these soft enough unloaded to not affect the factory ride quality? I had a set of these on my 2018 ram 2500 mega cab, and it killed the ride on the rear. There was no play for the small bumps.

When the Firestone Ride Rite kit part # F2609 is installed on your 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 and there is only the minimum air pressure in the bags of 5 psi the ride quality would not be affected. It's hard to say why your Ram had issues but there are some air bag kits similar to this that have jounce bumpers built into them which will make the ride quality a bit stiffer. But overwhelmingly the response we have had on the Firestone kits is that they do not hurt the unloaded ride quality. Without air pressure the bags by themselves do not have any spring like characteristics. It's only air pressure that causes them to provide additional suspension support.
