What Keeps Wesbar LED Trailer Utility Light # 54209-018 From Scratching Mounting Surface

Question:

looks like theres no provision of protecting the surface this light attaches to with its built in magnet... I think this could be a huge problem for me because it can potentially and most definitely scratch the paint off the surface of any painted cars with its sharp shroud around the bottom magnet. I suggest that you provide a feedback to the manufacturer of this light to add some sort of protective cover to make the interfacing surface less abrasive... and if the magnet is not strong enough to work thru whatever material they choose, then the light is a definitely pass and put into do not buy category.

The Wesbar LED Trailer Utility Light # 54209-018 that you referenced actually does feature a protective film on the magnetic base that's specifically designed to prevent scratches on the mounting surface. I attached an image below of this film/cover (which displays a "DO NOT remove" message as a reminder) that you can check out as well.

Because of the film you shouldn't expect any kind of paint damage to the surface when mounting this particular light. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.

I have older tractors that have six volt electrical systems. Does this led fire on a six volt system. I believe some leds work in a wide range of voltage ? Thank you.

The Wesbar LED Trailer Light # 54209-018 will only work with 12V systems. Unfortunately we don't have any utility lights that are designed to work off of 6V circuits.
