Does the 2012 Toyota Sienna Have a Power Wire Already at the Back to Power Trailer Wiring Converter
Question:
Was told by Toyota service rep that my 2012 Sienna with factory installed tow prep on engine, also had a factory installed power wire that ran to to rear of vehicle for use in powering after market trailer wiring kits. Have your organization found this to be true?

This is the first time that I have heard any vehicle had a power wire ran to the back specifically to power a converter box. It is possible that a vehicle can have a wire ran to the back for the 12 volt circuit on a 7-Way trailer connector.
The manufacturers of the wiring harnesses for the 2012 Toyota Sienna (# 118498 and # C56106) state that the connection has to be a dedicated line from the converter to the battery via the included fuse and fuse holder.
Routing the power wire is not difficult though it can be time consuming. I have included a link to an FAQ article that provides some tips on routing the wire and a video that should help.
