Recommended Equipment Needed To Tow A 16,000 5th Wheel With A 2019 Diesel Ram 2500 8 Foot Bed

I have a 2019 Ram 2500 diesel with OEM prep package 8 foot bed, I want to tow a 16,000 lb trailer what equipment do you recommend? i have the 7-way on the back of the truck and a brake controller. Do i need anything else besides hitch?

To tow a 16,000 lb 5th wheel trailer with your 2019 Ram 2500 I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package part # BWRVK3600. The B&W Companion drops down into the OEM prep package of your Ram and features a thick 1" jaw design. The jaw allows for 360 degree king pin contact to eliminate the annoying rattle you may experience with a looser jaw connection of the other brands. The cam action handle makes it so much more convenient to release the king pin even on unlevel terrain compared to other fifth wheel hitch heads that bind with tension.

I also recommend to add the 5th wheel wiring in the bed of the truck part # PK11893-11932 which gives you a 7-Way plug in the bed for easy hookup.

In the future if you have rear sag in the truck or sway with the trailer you may consider a weight distribution system. If you provide me with your loaded tongue weight I can provide a proper weight distribution recommendation. Besides the weight distribution, you already have the 7-way with brake controller, the hitch and the 5th wheel wiring is all you need.
