Should Additional Transmission Cooler Be Used When Towing At Max Capacity With 2019 Pathfinder
Question:
After towing a few times this summer, I'm thinking it may be worth looking at a transmission cooler. We're looking at a larger camper so will the transmission cooler help there too?

Adding a trasmission cooler is a good idea to help your transmission run better by cooling the fluid. This will not increase your tow capacity but may help extend the life of your tow vehicle transmission. You still want to be sure you have sufficient vehicle capacity and your towing components are up to the job first.
Fora confirmed fit transmission cooler for your 2019 Nissan Pathfinder, I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503 that is a stacked plate style cooler. This designe allows the fluid to spread out over maximum surface area for superior cooling. The plate core can cool a greater volume of fluid faster than other heat exchangers and a stacked plate cooler is the most efficient and typically smallest in size
An important consideration with transmission cooler is where you position it. Most transmission coolers are designed to be mounted flush against either the radiator or the AC condenser core. For maximum cooling ability, the heat exchanger must receive the most airflow possible. If you mount the cooler between your vehicle's grille and the AC condenser core, it provides the greatest efficiency. Included is a diagram for reference.
