Can the Hopkins Agility Brake Controller # HM47294 Be Installed Upside-Down
Question:
Can the Hopkins controller be installed upside down and work correctly? In other words with the red brake application button on the left side instead of the right side. I realize that the readout will be upside down, and that is OK with me.

According to the installation instructions, the Hopkins Agility Brake Controller you mentioned can only be mounted between + 70 and - 20 degrees of the direction of travel, as shown in the diagram I provided. Installing the controller in any other orientation will cause the accelerometer in the unit to malfunction, resulting in poor or no braking.
The Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885 can be mounted in a 360 degree orientation, which means that it can be mounted upside down as long is the unit is parallel to the direction of travel, as shown in the instructions which I have linked to. The vehicle specific wire harness part # 3050-P, which will allow the unit to be plugged into the factory connector under the dash.
