For your 2004 Ford F-150 new body, I would recommend using the Tow Ready Custom Fit Wiring Harness, # 118247. This wiring harness will plug into a connector that is located along the drivers side frame rail behind the back bumper and does not require any splicing.
I have attached the installation instructions that show where the vehicle side connector is located and where to connect the relay. I have also added a photo showing the location of the vehicle side connector
For a smooth factory look I would also recommend using the mounting bracket, # PK12711U, with the No-Drill Bracket, # 18136.
