Recommended Rear Suspension Enhancement for Maintaining Smooth Ride on 2016 Ram 1500

Question:

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi.. we tow a 26 foot camping trailer and Im wondering about getting these for added suspension stability. Not that Im having issues but want to provide a little insurance for rough road towing and less than perfect hwy conditions. I have an E 4 Equalizer Hitch that seems to work fine. But, would this Super springs fit my pickup and do you think it would be a good idea to install them? Do they stiffen up the ride when empty ? Ram has a nice ride so wouldnt want to make it real stiff. Thanx,

I do have a couple great solutions for you, however the SuperSprings Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit # SSA5MTKT that you referenced will not fit the rear suspension of your 2016 Ram 1500. There isn't a system similar to this that will work on your truck.

For an alternative from SuperSprings that will work great I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-307-47, which will replace the factory bump stops to provide better support when under load. These SumoSprings offer a softer/smoother ride than the stiffer Timbrens you were also checking out and since they will only be used when actually engaged (when the springs hit the contact point) it shouldn't affect your empty ride. I have attached customer-submitted review below that speaks to his experience with this on his Ram.

Now if you wanted to ensure a comfortable ride regardless of what you're towing or hauling, the best option is with an air bag system. The Air Lift LoadLifter # AL57365 is a great option that provides up to 5,000 pounds of load-leveling capacity and the bags can be adjusted (5 psi to 100 psi) so the ride when a full truck bed or when pulling your 26 foot camper feels the same as riding empty to the grocery store.

I have attached a couple short video reviews on these products that you can check out as well.
