Why Does the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit K71-448-00 Come with Silver Bolts and Not Black

Question:

Hello, Why are the bolts silver in this product versus black in the other dexter wet bolt kits? Different metal? Is it just as strong if it is a different metal? Thanks and have a good day.

The Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers part # K71-448-00 has zinc plated wet bolts which are just as strong as the black bolts you are used to seeing. The metal is the exact same but the coatings are different. The zinc coating is more durable as it resists rust and corrosion better which is why Dexter is now starting to transition from the black bolts to the silver zinc plated bolts. The Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers is a fairly new kit so it will come with the new zinc plated wet bolts.
