Demco Hijacker Fifth Wheel Hitch or Pullrite SuperGlide for 2019 Ram 2500
Question:
Which is the hitch you would go with, the Demco Hijacker or the Pullrite Superglide? I'm looking at both and leaning towards the Hijacker as I've heard really good things. 2019 Ram 2500 short bed.

When comparing the Demco Hijacker and Pullrite SuperGlide for your 2019 Ram 2500, I highly recommend going with the Demco Hijacker for a number of reasons
The first reason is the superior jaw system of the Hijacker. As you can see by the accompanying photo, this hitch has a single-piece jaw that wraps completely around the king pin, and has an enhanced connection via a 3/4" solid steel bar that locks into place once the jaw is closed. This reinforced jaw system is what will give you a much quieter, more comfortable ride with less rattling and slack in the jaws than other hitches, including the single-piece jaw of the Pullrite.
Additionally, the SuperGlide is at a set height, while the Hijacker has adjustable heights which means you will have options in order to ensure you will be able to tow your 5th wheel trailer level - something you may not be able to do with the SuperGlide.
For your 2019 Ram 2500, both the 18,000 lb capacity and 21,000 lb capacity Hijackers will work, you only need to choose the capacity that is right for you. Additionally, you will need either standard bed rails if you do NOT have the factory Fifth Wheel Prep Package, or an adapter if you DO have the prep package (which is the puck system). I have listed the parts for you, as well as links to some video reviews to take a look at.
- Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 18,000 lbs # DM8550034
- Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 21,000 lbs # DM8550035
To mount either hitch you will need one of the following:
- 2019 Ram 2500 WITHOUT factory puck system: Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit # DM8552025-71
- 2019 Ram 2500 WITH factory puck system: Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ram OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package # DM6099
