Why Would Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Power On But Not Work with Brake Application
Question:
I am working on horse trailer that has this kind of brake system on it. When you hook the 7 way up to a battery and test it. It will come on but the brakes are not working. What could the problem be.

Most likely the brake controller you are using is not compatible with electric over hydraulic brake setups or it's not set in hydraulic mode. Since most controllers aren't compatible with this type of brakes most likely you'll need to install a new controller like the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 which would work well. It's also proportional which means it senses how hard you are applying the trailer brakes and applies a proportional amount of trailer brakes as well.
