How Much Space Is Needed For An RV Water Heater

Question:

Water heaters seem to come in two cutout sizes. Approximately 16 or 12 inches square. I can only accommodate the smaller size, but I have 24inch of depth available. Am I stuck with a 6 gallon water heater?

Correct, there are two water heater sizes available. The six gallon water heaters like the Atwood RV Water Heater part # AT96110 which are roughly 12-1/2" tall x 16" wide x 18" deep and ten gallon water heaters like the Atwood RV Water Heater part # AT94180 which are roughly 17-3/4" tall x 18" wide x 20-7/8" deep. That said, you will need space behind the unit in order to connect your gas lines and wires etc. so make sure to take this into consideration when choosing the best option. It sounds like the six gallon option would be the best size for you.

I have attached a list of all our water heaters for you to look through as well.
