Automatic and Manual Settings On The Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller
Question:
I have a question about the Settings after watching your product video. I understood from the video, that the brake controller has separate settings for Manual braking, and another setting for Automatic braking. Is this correct? My current brake controller is giving me problems in this area. Thanks.

Yes, the Tekonsha Primus # TK90160 has automatic, proportional braking. The trailer brakes are activated when the tow vehicle brakes are activated at the same intensity as the the tow vehicle. The Power Boost settings can be set for towing a variety of trailer weights.
The manual override switch is always available for emergency braking when the boost is not activated. The 3 boost settings are for when the trailer weighs the same, 25% more than, 40% more than, or over 40% of the tow vehicles weight.
