Can the CAB-C5G 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter be Used without Bolting or Welding to Trailer Pin Box
Question:
can this product be used without bolting or welding to pin box? Reason for questions I will be towing different trailers and would like to be able to move from one to another.

Yes, you can use the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter, # CAB-C5G, without bolting it to the trailer king pin boxes. This is the best option for this coupler because it allows you to tow different trailers without the need for modification to the trailer pin boxes. This also makes the adapter fairly easy to move from trailer to trailer.
One thing I would like to mention is that any of the offset adapters for short bed pickups, like part # CAB-C5GX1216, will require you to bolt the adapter to the pin box to eliminate the possibility that the adapter could turn, eliminating the clearance provided by the offset. Most trucks used for moving different trailers around will have an 8 foot bed so this should not apply in your case.
