Can B&W Companion Hitch for Ford Rail Kit Fit Reese Signature Series Rail Kit in Chevy Truck
Question:
I currently have a Reese 18K Signature Series hitch in my truck. I need to get a larger hitch since we will be purchasing a new fifth wheel trailer. Previously you guys said the BW Companion hitch would work but I need a clarification. As I mentioned, I have the Signature Series not the Elite Series. I spoke with an advisor at BW and he mentioned I could keep the same holes in my bed but I would have to switch out the Signature rails for Elite rails since the pucks are slightly different and then I could use the BW Companion hitch for Ford trucks. Do you guys agree with this and if so, which rail part would I need? Thanks for your help.

Expert Reply:
The big difference between the older Signature Series fifth wheel rail kits from Reese and the current Elite rails kit is the height of the pucks. What that means is that to fit a Signature Series hitch into Elite rails an adapter is needed but to do the opposite (like what you are wanting to do) an adapter is not needed.
So the B&W Companion Hitch for Ford rail kits part # BWRVK3300 would fit the rail kit you have now directly.
That said, the correct Reese Elite rail kit for your 2011 Chevy Silverado is the part # RP30868.
