Installing B and W Slider Fifth Wheel Hitch in Bed of Truck with OEM GM Rail Kit and Turnoverball
Question:
can this hitch use the B and W turn over ball adapter plate? I have two trucks, 2006 chevy dually with the B and W turnover ball and a 17foot short bed with factory pucks, want to be able to switch between trucks if possible and use same hitch and different base plate??

To use a single slider fifth wheel hitch between both trucks you mentioned that have different gooseneck hitches you'd have to use the Reese slider hitch # RP30075 with the Demco adapter part # DM6140 in the 2006 Chevy that has a B and W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch and then to install it in 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed with the OEM rail kit you'd need the part # DM6194 and you'd be set.
There isn't an easy way to adapt a Companion hitch to either setup, but the Patriot and Companion hitches share the same head/jaw design which makes the B and W hitches so special. Only difference is the rail kits they are designed to fit.
