Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2005 Ford Expedition and 5,880 Pound Loaded Trailer
Question:
I have a 2005 Ford Expedition-Eddie Bauer Edition. Class IV Hitch. Car trailer weighs in at 2200 lbs surge brakes and towed vehicle weighs in at 3680 for a total tow weight of 5880. TW should be around 882 +- using 15 rule. Will carry about 200 lbs of racing equipment in back of Expedition. I need a WD hitch that is Surge and Electric Brake compatible, for now. Is the RP66560 the correct WD for my setup?

First, thank you very much for provided all of the information you have given. It is exactly what we need to best answer a weight distribution question.
You have hit the nail on the head. With a total tongue weight nearing 1,100 pounds (gear plus tongue weight) a system rated for 600 to 1,200 pounds would work. However if you will always be up around 1,100 pounds, you may want to go with a system rated for 700 to 1,400 pounds so that you are more in the middle (# RP66561).
If you find you are closer to 10 percent of the gross trailer weight than 15 percent, then go with the smaller system, # RP66560. I have included links to the installation instructions and a video review for you.
Either system comes with the draw bar so you will need a properly sized ball like # A-90 for a 2 inch or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch depending on what size your coupler requires. The SC systems are compatible with surge brakes and electric brakes. I have included a link to our FAQ article on weight distribution for you.
