Replacement 6,000 Lb Trailer Axle That Uses Dexter 8-222 Hub

Question:

I need a new 6000lb axle for an equipment trailer that uses an 8-222 hub with 1-3/8 inner and 1-1/4 outer spindle size LM67048 outer and L68149 inner bearings 10-40 or 10-41 grease seal 80inch centers on springs. 87inch from brake flange to brake flange. I havent found this axle anywhere. Looks like everything is using the 8-174-5UC3 hub with 1-3/4 inner. I was hoping to not buy new hubs-wont match other axles etc.

The best option I have for you would be to obtain two new axles, the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes part # 8327826-EB which come with everything that you need but will require a wheel with 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. I have attached a list of our wheel/tire options for you.

That said, I do understand that you don't want to replace both axles but the issue is that axle/hubs you have now contain very unique parts which are simply just not available anymore. Therefore, your only real option is to upgrade to a more standardized setup in which replacement parts would be very easy to come by if anything were to happen down the line.
