Question:

My truck wasnt purchased with a fifth wheel prep kit. Can someone install the GMC puck system into my truck? Can I purchase the system aftermarket?

To get the actual GM puck system installed on your pickup you'd need to reach out to a dealer. I'm not sure if the OEM puck system is something you can get installed after the fact, but I do have an alternate solution for you.

We have the Reese Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit # RP30868 (or part # RP30158-68 for the pucks and gooseneck) which isn't exactly the same as the GM factory kit but it does fit 2011 - 2019 GM HD pickups (Silverado 2500/3500 and Sierra 2500/3500) and gives you an underbed puck system.

This puck system is compatible with certain Reese 5th wheel hitches like the M5 # RP30921 or with any 5th wheel hitch that has industry standard mounting if you use the Rail Adapter Kit # RP30156.

Something else you might be interested in is an in-bed 7-Way socket like the Hopkins # 41157 which makes connecting/disconnecting your trailer wiring much easier.

I have attached some sample videos that you can check out on these various products.
