Travel Trailer Brake Light Doesnt Work on 2019 Ram Truck
Question:
I have a 2017 Forest River Travel Trailer. When I plug in the 7 way wiring plug into my 2019 Dodge Ram all the running lights come on, the rear left brake and blinker work fine but the right does not. When I plug the travel trailer to my 2006 Yukon the right blinker and brake works fine. I inspected the 7 way receptacle on the Ram and everything is clean and new looking. How do I fix this issue. I assume the 7 way receptacle on the Ram is faulty.

You did the right thing by checking the trailer connector and since your trailer connector works with your Yukon but not your 2019 Ram, the issue is with the truck somewhere. It may not be the 7-way though, and could just be a blown fuse so the first thing to do is check your owner's manual and find the fuse associated with the right side trailer brake/turn signal to see if it is blown and replace as needed.
If the fuses are fine, use Circuit Tester # PTW2979 and test the wiring going into your harness to see if those wires are carrying the correct signals and getting to your connector. If they are, then you will likely need to replace your plug as it may be damaged, with the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket # HM40975. You never mentioned what model of '19 Ram you had but this will fit the 2019 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500.
