Over The Cab Truck Ladder Rack With Removable Rear Bar for 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

I've got a new 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 and I'd like to get a ladder rack since this will be a work truck. I'd like something that extends over the cab and has a removable rear bar if possible. What is the good option for my truck that won't break the bank?

A good, pocket friendly over the cab ladder rack with a removable bar for your 2020 Chevy Silverado is the Buyer's Products Over-The-Cab Truck Rack # 3371501150. This rack sets itself apart from the other similar racks because of how easy the rear bar removes; all you need to do it pull a pin and you can remove the rear bar of the rack to easily load and unload items where most other truck bed racks require you to remove multiple bolts.

This over-the-cab rack lets you carry longer items easily without having to worry about damaging your truck cab and the raised side rails provide load support with multiple tie down points for your cargo. I also recommend adding the Buyer's Products Rear Window Guard # 3371501155 to protect your rear window from damage when loading or unloading.

If you wanted to go with something a bit more expensive, but worth the cost, I recommend going with the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Cantilever # TH43002XT-781EX. The TracRac SR has sliding bars and a removable cantilever system to help you carry loads of varying lengths easily. Since the rear bar can be slid all the way forward to the cab of the truck, it works the same way as a removable bar system- only easier!

I really love that Thule has a lifetime limited warranty on this rack, so you know it's built to last; with the Buyer's you only get a 1 year warranty. In my opinion, this might be a case where paying up for the Thule is worth it in the end because of the quality and warranty.
