Recommended Fold Up Bike Rack For A 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
We do a lot of biking throughout out the week. That said, we are upgrading from a roof rack to a hitch rack and my concern is I want a rack that I can leave on my car all the time. Something that doesn't look monstrous and stick out when it's not in use (carrying bikes). What do you recommend for our situation?

The ability for the rack to fold up is your primary need and essentially be a part of your vehicle is a paramount consideration. For this reason I recommend the Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # NV22G which folds up neatly per the installed picture included. The lower positioning makes the rack easy to load and it tilts away allowing hatch access even when loaded with bikes. Finally the wheel mount design means the rack will not make contact with your bike frames.
If you need a hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76227 as a great choice for your situation. All you can see is the receiver when not in use as you can see from the included customer photo. The hitch comes in a glossy black finish that blends in well with the undercarriage of your 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon.
I've included video resources including some great reviews of these products for your viewing.
