Converting Curt Q24 Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch To OEM Puck System on 2018 GMC Sierra 3500

Question:

Thank you John. It looks like retaining the slider portion will make the hitch sit higher and I’m already high enough. I assume doing away with the slider portion would allow it to sit lower? Thank you

Thank you for all of the info!

There are a few different options for using your sliding Curt Q24 # C16546 with the puck system on your 2018 GMC Sierra 3500. If you have the short bed then you need the Adapter Rails # C16023 but if you have the long bed you can either use the Adapter Rails # DM6206 to retain the sliding feature (for future use) or you can swap out the slider for the Stationary Legs # C16025 which drops your Q24 straight into the pucks on your pickup.

I have attached review videos for all 3 options for you to check out.

The Q24 Slider # C16546 has a hitch height range of 17-1/2" - 21-1/2" while the stationary Q24 # C16545-16025 has a hitch height range of 13" - 17" so yes, if you have the long bed and your 5th wheel hitch currently sits too high then the stationary legs are definitely the way to go as the adapter rails will raise the height a bit. Please note that you need to be sure that you have at least 5" - 6" of clearance between your truck bed rails and the overhang of your 5th wheel trailer.
