The Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Adapter part # HM47675 is just an adapter plug therefore would not determine the functionality of the 12 volt circuit. The functionality of the 12 volt circuit will vary by vehicle. It can either be on all the time or only on when the vehicle's accessory circuit is activated via the ignition. If you have a circuit tester you would be able to test this for yourself rather easily. The Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Adapter would then retain the functionality of the circuit.

If the 12 volt circuit is keyed and you do not want it to be then all you need to do is run your own power wire from the trailer connector to the battery with part # 10-1-1 (per foot) and part # 9510. If the 12 volt circuit is not keyed and you want it to be then all you need to do is again run your own power wire from the trailer connector to the battery but with part # 10-1-1 (per foot), part # 9510, and part # PK5231201.
