Can the Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock Be Tied Into the Trunk Lock On a 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Question:

Hello, This looks like a product you should sell to Honda but I digress. In lieu of running the wiring under the truck is it possible to connect it to the wiring for the in bed trunk lock? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is possible to run the lock and unlock wires for the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock part # PAL8600 to the lock and unlock wires used for the in-bed trunk on your 2019 Honda Ridgeline. This question has come up in the past and Pop & Lock has stated that it is in theory possible but is not something they have tested to confirm. The only issue I could see with splicing the tailgate lock in with the in-bed trunk lock is how the lock would function. The tailgate lock while spliced in with the door locks will unlock and lock with the key fob or proximity sensors but I am not sure how the lock and unlock is operated with the trunk. Therefore, I say give it a shot as worse case you will blow a fuse but this would not cause any damage to the vehicle.

If you do choose to run the lock and unlock wires for the tailgate lock to the door locks, there is a plug by the drivers side seat in the B pillar by the seat belt which has the functions you need. The red and yellow wires are the ones you will be using (see photo).
