Reese Revolution Pin Box Does Not Sit Straight With Husky 16k 5th Wheel Hitch Using Stock Wedge
Question:
My 5th wheel is a 2012 Keystone Cougar 246RLS. For a replacement tow vehicle, I made the mistake of buying a short bed. The Cougar was equipped with a Reese Revolution that was locked out, so my solution was to buy a Husky 16K W hitch and unlock the Revolution. So far Ive only driven it home from the installer, but in getting ready for a trip I just noticed that when turning, the Revolution isnt completely locked with respect to the hitch see photo showing some rotation. The installer insisted the stock wedge with the Revolution was fine, but in researching this more it looks to me like thats the reason the pin box has some play at the hitch end. I think I need to purchase your custom wedge, Item # SWW-04. Does that sound right? Thanks....

Yes, you are absolutely correct. The stock wedge included with the Reese Revlotuion is okay but does not provide the tight fit needed for certain 5th wheel hitches like the Husky Silver Series 16K S 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # HT31313-31314. Therefore a custom wedge is needed to better fit inside the funnel. The 5th Airborne Custom Wedge for Husky / Valley Fifth Wheels part # SWW-04 is what you need and will fix the issue you are having with the pin box not sitting straight inside the 5th wheel hitch.
