Hands Free Lift Gate Does Not Work On a 2015 Ford Edge After Installing Trailer Hitch
Question:
I have a 2015 edge titanium, I put one of your hitches on and now my hands free doesn’t work. Not your fault! But I am wondering if there is a way I can make it work again, I don’t know where the sensor is. I am referring to the foot swipe control of the lift gate.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75234 will still work with the hands free light gate sensor on your 2015 Ford Edge Titanium. That said, the area you will need to use to activate this feature has moved and you will need to place your foot on either side of the receiver tube opening. It may take a few extra seconds to find the sweet spot but we have had numerous customers install this very same hitch and still be able to use the hands free light gate feature.
Unfortunately, there is not much else you can do to resolve this issue save for possibly bending the sensor bracket a tad bit.
