Correct Plug In Wiring Adapter for Prodigy P3 Brake Controller on 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
Tekonsha 90195 p3 and 3016-p harness not working or connecting with trailer brakes on 2003 Silverado. I just installed a brake controller on a 2003 Silverado 1500hd. Purchased tekonsha 90195 controller and pnp harness. I keep getting a trailer not connected message. Ive tried repinning the harenes end that goes under kick panel. But cant seem to get it right or to connect with trailer brakes.

The reason your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 will not work is because the # 3016 harness you mentioned you purchased is the incorrect wiring adapter for a 2003 Chevy Silverado with the factory 7-way. Instead, you will need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - GM # 3015-P, which is the correct adapter for your truck.
I have added a link to a video showing this harness being used and where it installs on a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500.
