Fixed Hitch To Replace Curt Slider that Was Chucking Recommendation

Question:

Hey, Ive had my curt q25 sliding for over a year but didnt purchase my 5th wheel until october last year. We have gone on several trips this year and ive noticed chucking when on uneven pavement. when i discussed this with my trailer service dept they said they have had this issue with Curt and I should change to another hitch. Now Ive got a short bed but dont need the slider since the trailer has the new style front so the question is do i change out the hitch? Ive always thought that Curt was a good product, or do I change out the king pin assembly?

Hey Alex, so the Curt Q Series of fifth wheel hitches aren't known for terrible chucking, but I am not shocked to hear that you are experiencing it. Especially with a slider hitch as they are more prone to chucking due to more moving parts.

Going to a fixed hitch with a tighter jaw design is your best option. This will do the best job at eliminating as much of the chucking as possible. The B and W Patriot fixed hitch part # BWRVK3255 will make a huge difference and is the hitch I recommend. It's made in the USA and has the best jaw design out there.
