Will 12V LED Lights Work with 6V System

Question:

Hi, I would like to install these on an old Ferguson 35 Tractor. My question is, will these work on a 6 Volt system? I dont even care if they are half as bright as they would be on a 12 Volt system, as long as they do work. Using LED lights like # MT80637-2 on a 6 Volt system may result in much dimmer LEDs but it is also possible that the LEDs will not produce any light at all. You will also dramatically shorten the lifespan of the LEDs and then there's also the potential damage caused by overheated wires from excessive amperage draw - all reasons why we do not recommend using a 12V LED light on a 6V system.

Since we do not offer any 6V lights, you could technically use a 12V breakaway battery like # 3801250 to provide temporary power to the MT80637-2 lights. Because these small batteries only have a 5 amp hour rating it would only provide power for a little over an hour based on the 4.5 combined amp draw of these specific lights. To keep that battery charged, I recommend the 2.5-Watt Solar Battery Charger # PTW2997.
