Non-Intermittent Power On Trailer Turn Signal Circuit for 2013 Ford Edge with Curt Wiring Harness

Question:

Hello, I installed a Curt 56120 wiring harness on my 2013 Ford Edge to tow my boat trailer. Every light works on the trailer with the exception of the right side marker and right side rear running light. Heres what I have tested so far: - Trailer bulbs are good - I cleaned the ground connections on the trailer - There is no breakage in the wires - I have juice in the wires going to the right side lights - When using a 4 pin tester plug connected to the vehicle all lights and signals behave as expected. - However, when using a voltage meter and testing the the vehicle plug, testing the pins when my blinkers are on shows continuity instead of being intermittent. Based on the results of the last troubleshooting step where do you think the issue lies? What are the next recommended steps to locate and fix the issue? Thank you!!

If you have a constant signal when testing the right hand stop/turn pin on the trailer side trailer connector then we know there is an issue with the vehicle or wiring harness. The next step I recommend you take is test the right hand turn signal wire that leads into the converter box. If all is normal here then we know the wiring harness is bad and will need to be replaced for which I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118515 as it is a more reliable option than the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56120 that you have now.

If the signal going into the converter box is intermittent on the right hand turn signal wire then we have an issue with the vehicle and you will need to look over the connectors to make sure there are no bent or broken pins.
