Is Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ram OEM Prep Package Compatible With Curt Spyder and 16055

Question:

Could the Reese rail adapter RP30154 be used with a gooseneck spyder or bent plate. my 2016 ram has the 4 puck system but does not have the goose neck. I believe this was an add on and the goose neck was not installed. Safety chains have a location with the spyder however on the bent plate I do not see any. All help appreciated.

Yes, the Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ram OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package - 25,000 lbs part # RP30154 is compatible with both the Curt Spyder part # 16085 but not the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails part # 16055. The Reese adapter will give you industry standard fifth wheel rails in your bed by attaching to the puck system but the gooseneck plate peg spacing will not fit into the holes of the adapter. For this reason, I recommend to use the Curt Spyder with the adapter, it also has integrated tie down loops.

Some states do require safety chain points that are not a part of the hitch. If your state requires separate safety chain loops, I recommend Curt Safety-Chain Loops for Gooseneck Hitches on 5th Wheel Rails part # C16000 to fulfill that requirement.
