Can Reese Goose Box Installed on 2007 Keystone Challenger 29TRL Allow Short Bed Turning Clearance

Thank you for your reply, but I don’t think this works. The trailer is 96” wide, the gooseneck ball is 37” behind the back wall of my cab. I don’t see how I could get to the 90 degree position without interference. The Sidewinder works by moving the rotation point back 22” I have discovered several other problems. The bolt pattern that attaches this pinbox to the trailer is non-standard. None of the pinboxes I can find will bolt in. I would have to make a drilling template and drill some new holes in one part or the other. The most straightforward solution is to get a conventional rail mounted 5th wheel hitch and use it just the same as the previous owner did. I hate that big ugly contraption making my bed unusable and had to remove. The second most straightforward solution is to get a Companion Slider and lock the Sidewinder so it is fixed. Unfortunately this Sidewinder does not have the mating flanges where you put in bolts to lock it up. I would have to find a way to add the feature. Either I weld ears onto what is there so I have the lockout feature, or I find a way by drilling holes to get the same thing.

I checked out the front of your 2007 Keystone Challenger 29TRL and since it has a tapered nose and the short bed length of your 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD is a "longer" short bed at 6-1/2 feet you should have clearance to make tight turns with the Reese Goose Box part # RP85FR you referenced installed.
That said it's not really designed as an extension or offset to give you more clearance. You can measure from the front row of your pin box bolts to the center of the king pin to see if the # RP85FR is longer or shorter. This has a distance of 17.5 inches like the picture I attached shows.
