Trailer Brake Controller for 2015 Mazda CX-5
Question:
Im looking at installing a trailer brake controller on my 2015 Mazda CX-5. The vehicle came with a class 3 curt hitch C13315 and 4 pole wiring harness already installed. Im looking at brake controllers now and Im leaning towards the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller. My question is about the wiring I need to hook all of this up. From what Ive gathered the ETBC7 wiring kit should have everything I need, but Im wondering about attaching the connector bracket to the hitch. Do you offer any kind of adapter to cleanly and securely attach it to the square tubing on the hitch? Also is there any other wiring pieces that I might need, or does the ETBC7 cover everything?

The # ETBC7 is going to have everything you need, including the mounting bracket you're looking for, but since the Curt # C13315 has a concealed crosstube behind the bumper, you might have some difficulty mounting the bracket to the tube. For that reason you may want to use the Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58000 which connects to the receiver tube and provides a mounting surface for your 7-way connector.
As for the RedArc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR , I can't recommend that enough. It's going to mount easily anywhere in your vehicle and give you a clean factory installed look once you're done. I love these and think that RedArc makes some of the best brake controllers on the market.
