Why Cant Curt Rebellion XD Shock Absorbing Adjustable Ball Mount be Used in Rise Position

can these be turned over so that there is taller rise than just the 1/4inch it states in the description?

The Curt Rebellion XD Shock-Absorbing Adjustable Ball Mount # C45949 can't be used in the traditional rise position due to how the shock mechanism is designed. It needs to push down in the drop position for the cushioning to be effective.

You'd need a more traditional style adjustable ball mount to be able to flip it over into the rise position like the B and W Tow and Stow part # BWTS10048B. This fits a 2 inch hitch and comes with all three standard hitch ball sizes as well. Or if you were really wanting the cushioning we have the Gen-Y part # 325-GH-1225 which can be used in either orientation and is cushioned. 7-1/2 inches of rise or drop.
