Padlock for Locking Feet of B and W Companion Hitch to Ram Factory Rail Kit

Question:

I would like to lock the hitch to the truck somehow? Its a 2016 Dodge 3500 8foot bed with the factory puck system. Is there something beefier that I can replace the little pins with besides a little padlock short of drilling the holes bigger for a big padlock?? I hate worrying about this but people steal anything and everything that isnt tied down. TIA!!

The only way we can recommend you lock the B and W Companion hitch # BWRVK3600 to the factory rail kit of your 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 will be with a pad lock like the # ML4140LH as there isn't any other way to lock the feet. Most thieves are going to be deterred by the sheer weight of the fifth wheel hitch which will make a quick getaway nearly impossible and also the presence of a padlock. A determined thief with enough time and the correct tools typically can get what they want, but with the padlocks you'd be deterring most of the casual thieves who are going to be the majority of them.

Another option would be a tonneau cover like the # TP42-204 which fits your truck and will keep the hitch out of sight and out of mind for thieves!
