Does Wiring Harness for 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Require Dealer Activation
Question:
I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I got the Draw Tite Hitch #75699 and the wire harness Tekonsha 118425 T- connector, both I believe featured in the videos. My question is that if I use that wire harness and go into the tail lights like the video shows, will I have to take it to a dealership to get the trailer light system activated? I don’t believe there is any preexisting wiring for a trailer anywhere. I looked all over. I’m not too knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles. Thank you.

Thank you for purchasing the Draw-Tite # 75699 and Wiring Harness # 118425 for your 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee directly from us! I can tell you that since this harness plugs in behind the tail lights it will not require you to see the dealer to activate the tow package wiring circuit. You would only need to see a dealer for a wiring harness that plugs into the tow package port.
I have added links to video installs of both products on an '11 Grand Cherokee for you as well.
