Is It Possible To Put the Key In a Thule Cargo Box the Wrong Way
Question:
So we were closing our Thule Carrier Box and the key didn’t want to lock. It turns a tiny bit and then stops and won’t budge. We tried everything, but we are afraid that we might of put the key maybe the wrong way. Luckily our box is still open. But we can’t get the key out. And we have to leave in an hour. Please Help?

I don't think it is possible for the key to be inserted into the lock core the wrong way but it is possible that some dirt has gotten inside the lock core which is then not allowing it to turn. I recommend you apply some pressure to the key while turning as well as spraying some lube inside the lock core. If all else fails and you can't get the key out then you will just need to drill out the lock core and replace it with the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders part # TH450200. If you are able to get the key out then you can use the change key that comes with the above kit so you can change out the lock core without drilling.
