How to Manually Close Jaws for Demco Autosliding 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
I purchased the DM6100 from your company a while back and was just goin to use it. How do I get my autoslide hitch to close. On the web site he states to close the hitch to use this device but I can’t get my hitch to lock. Thanks

The jaws on your Demco Autosliding 5th Wheel Hitch like part # DM8550034 should basically just snap back in place when you couple your trailer. If you're trying to figure out how to close the jaws once you uncouple your trailer then you can use the Demco 5th Wheel Lifting Bracket # DM6100 to do so but it does take some pressure. If you check out the attached review video at about the 5:30 minute mark you can see this being done with a similar product.
If you check out the cut out from the instructions for the Hijacker you can see that you need to put pressure on the handle and also the secondary jaw to the right with the DM6100 bracket.
