Question:
Looking to purchase the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller for our 2012 Honda Pilot EX-L 2WD - already have trans cooler and hitch harness installed - pulling lightweight camper. Will this model accept the brake controller harness for easier installation?

If your Pilot came from the factory with the 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper, it will have the connector under the dash that the # 3070-P would plug into. You would attach the controller to the underside of the dash within easy reach of the driver, plug one end of the wiring adapter into the connector under the dash and plug the other end into the back of the controller.
Since it sounds as if you had to install a 4-pole wiring harness, the connector will not be present and you will need to hardwire the brake controller using our Brake Controller Install Kit, part # ETBC7. The kit contains everything necessary for installing your controller, including the adapter that will plug into your existing 4-pole and convert it to a 7-way. Having a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 would be helpful, if you do not already have one.
The Prodigy P2 is our best seller by far and is an excellent brake controller that will serve you well.
I have linked you to the install instructions for the ETBC7 kit as well as some helpful FAQ articles and install videos. The video shows the kit being used on a 2009 Odyssey, but the procedure will be very similar for your 2012 Pilot.
