Best Way to Use Strait Line Weight Distribution System in 2-1/2 inch Hitch
Question:
I have a 2016 Chevy 2500 HD with a Duramax. I just bought a travel trailer with a dry weight of 7,660 lbs., a max weight of 9,660 lbs. and a hitch weight of 865 lbs. Im assuming that hitch weight is dry. Not sure home much it will go up after its loaded and the tanks are full. Im thinking the Reese strait-line is a perfect fit for my rig. However i was wondering if reese makes a 2-1/2inch shank to fit my receiver instead of the 2inch that is shown in the video. I would like to eliminate as much slop in the rigging as possible and that would really help. thank you for your time.

The Reese Strait Line weight distribution systems are really great options so since you want to use a kit in a 2-1/2 inch hitch what I would recommend is the part # RP66074 which comes without a shank (saves you some money over # RP66084) and then go with a shank that fits your 2-1/2 inch hitch directly like the # EQ90-02-4900 and you be set without having to use a hitch adapter sleeve.
