How Does Roof Rack Accessory Fit Into Top Channel of Malone Crossbar with Rubber Seal

Question:

I just installed the Malone Airflow 2 and purchased the t-slot kit. I have been trying to figure out how to get the square nut portion of the t-slot kit into the t slot on the Airflow 2 and have had no luck. Is there a trick for getting the nut into the slot with the rubber gasket still in place? Help!

To fit roof accessories into the top channel of the Malone AirFlow2 crossbars like part # MPG216 you have to push down on the rubber strip to start the T-bolt into the top channel and the slide the nut down to where you want it. The rubber strip is there to help seal the channel so that it doesn't create a lot of noise at highway speeds.
