5,200 Lb Timbren Axle-Less System With Compatible Hub, Drum and Electric Brakes

Question:

Ok, the Timbren axle less system could be a simpler option for me. I think the cost of an axle ( if there is one available) plus springs and brakes/hubs would add up to the same as a axle less one? Is there one that would fix my 6 lug wheel pattern with electric brakes? can you give what it will cost for a set of Timbrens 52k; complete with 6 lug hubs, brakes

The Warner-style brake assemblies are no longer made and replacement parts are essentially non-existent at this point, so really your best option is going to be replacing your hub and drum as well as brake assemblies. You may also need to weld on a new brake mounting flange, which will be determined by the diameter of your axle.

In order to find the correct replacement hubs for your trailer you need to know the weight rating of your axle, and also what bearings your current hub has. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use a digital caliper and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings and grease seal ride.

Additionally, you need to know your hub's wheel bolt pattern; if you do not know what it is I have added a help article which details how you can find it. In order to choose the correct replacement axle for your trailer you will need to know the dimensions of your current axle's hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center; the other thing you need to know is the weight capacity of the axle you need, which should match or exceed the GVWR of your trailer. For example the Dexter Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs # 6340624 has a 5,200 lb capacity and measures 95 inches from hub face to hub face and 80 inches from spring center to spring center. so you would need to find an axle which matches these dimensions. If that proves too difficult you do have another option, the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System, which are simply bolted or welded so you do not have to worry about finding an axle that meets any specific measurements such as the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - 4" Lift Spindle w/ Brake Flange - 5,200 lbs # TASR5200S03. The Timbren system also offers you an improved ride compared to a traditional through-axle because they work independently so if there is a bump on one side of the road it won't rattle your entire trailer and also have progressive springs that absorb shock better than a traditional axle.
