Towing Capacity of 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 with Max Trailering Package
Question:
I purchased a new truck 3 years ago to pull my boat and 4 horse goose neck trailer. The Chevy salesman assured me I could pull the weight of my boat and horse trailer with this truck. I found out it did not have the capacity to pull my trailers when I burned my transmission 6 months ago. I am in the process of purchasing a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a max trailering package. Im trying to get it right this time. The truck I want to buy has a GVW of 7100 lbs and a max trailering package, but I can not see the capacity of truck pulling a trailer. I think thats called the GVWR of the trailer Im pulling. The salesman says it can pull 11,000 lbs. Most of what I see online says the max trailering package can handle 12,000. I think the total of both truck and trailer is called GCWR. I think thats the number Im looking for to make sure Im covered. I get the feeling the sales man is not being straight with me again. Any suggestions?

The 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the max trailering package is rated for towing up to 12,000 lbs of trailer weight which is very impressive for a 1/4 ton payload truck!
Since this number is explicitly stated you do not need to factor anything with the GCWR or the GVWR either. It's 12,000 lbs total trailer weight.
