Does Install of Draw Tite Hitch on 2019 Honda Passport Require Fascia/Bumper Modification
Question:
Do I have to replace or modify my bumper in order to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch #76290, or the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 Item # C13421? Is it just simply the 6 bolts and your done? I would rather buy the unit from you guys if it is the same quality of the $1,000 one that Honda wants me to buy. Will either of these work and be able to tow the 5,000 lbs Honda claims the vehicle will tow? Thanks,

The install of the Draw Tite hitch part # 76290 is as simple as lifting the hitch into place and then using the included bolts to secure it to the vehicle frame. There is no fascia or bumper trimming at all. This also has more than enough capacity as the hitch is rated for up to 6,000 lbs trailer weight. The install is the same as the Curt # C13421 but this hitch has a lower capacity of 5,000 lbs trailer weight so I recommend the Draw Tite.
To tow a trailer, you will also need trailer wiring. For that the Curt T-Connector part # C56291 is the best option as it installs very easily and comes with a very reliable converter box.
Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
