For a truck bed that is less than 6 feet long like on your 2010 Toyota Tundra, you will have to use a standard 5th wheel trailer hitch and a Sidewinder in order to safely make tight turns while towing a 5th wheel trailer hitch.

There are also some measurementss you will need to take to determine if even a Sidewinder will give you enough clearance. First, find the center line of the rear axle and measure 3-1/2 inches forward. Then measure from the back of the truck cab to this point. Then, add 22 inches to this measurement. This is measurement A.

Next, you will need to measure the width of the 5th wheel trailer overhang and divide by 2 to get half. This is measurement B.

Take A minus B to get C for clearance. The C measurement will have to be at least positive 4 inches to safely make 90 degree turns.

A slider hitch will give you at most 12 inches of travel which is 10 inches less than the Sidewinder. Slider hitches cannot be slid back and be used with a Sidewinder which is why a standard hitch is recommended. To determine if a Sidewinder will fit your trailer, you can use the FAQ and slider pages I have linked for you.

I have also included a link to the installation instructions for a 5th wheel install kit, and a link to the hitch recommendations for your truck.
