5 inch Drop Shank for Use with Reese Steadi Flex Weight Distribution

Question:

I currently have a 5inch ball to tow my trailer. Can I get this weight distribution with sway control system with a lower ball ? I assume I would need a 5inch from the Reese system The difference between the bottom of my trailer hitch to the top of my car hitch is 6inch - see pic. I also have a straight-tongue trailer. I dont see any holes for mounting on the Reese Pole-Tongue adaptor RP3280. Is that the correct adaptor to use? If so, how do I mount this 66557 to the adaptor RP3280?

The solution to being able to use the Reese Steadi-Flex part # 66557 you mentioned on a setup that requires 5 inches of drop is to also purchase a shank that can do the amount of drop you need. There isn't a version of this system that has more drop or that does not come with a shank either. So what you'd need also is the # C17123 which will allow you to have the amount of drop needed.

This system will work great with the Pole Tongue Adapter part # RP3280 as well as Reese has told us it is perfectly compatible. Basically the outer C-channel on the adapter wings will act as the frame that you'd attach the brackets to.
